Tip #51 – Heating and AirConditioning – 2/12/12

Be sure to have your furnace cleaned and tuned up each year.  Replace or clean filters every 3 months during peak use.  The dirtier the filters are the more energy they require.

Check our participating businesses to save with your Pocono Gold Discount Card.  You'll save between 10-15% on your service.  

Also add insulation to the roof/attic to stop heat loss and lower your heating bill. 

Tip #50 – Save at your Computer at Work and at Home – 1/9/12

Paper – On average, whether working from home or at an office, we go through approximately 10,000 sheets of copy paper a year per person. We can cut down by printing on both sides or using the back side of old documents for faxes, scrap paper or drafts.  REMEMBER:  A piece of paper ISN'T USED until both sides have been printed on.

Ink - Avoid printing in color and print in draft mode whenever feasible.  Remember, when you use the Pocono Gold Discount Card, there’s no need to print coupons. You just show your card, no more wasting ink and paper.  

Have your cartridges refilled at Cartridge World for big savings.  I pay over $20 for a New ink cartridge but ONLY $10 to have it refilled and you'll be doing something good for the environment.  REFILL NOT LANDFILL!

When we send you the monthly updates, be sure to print the list on both sides. Then each month, ONLY print the page with the updates and attached it to your original list rather than printing a new list each month.  Together, we can make a difference!
